Dominica: Second Citizenship
The main reason for acquiring a second citizenship is mobility around the world, since they all live in several countries at the same time. They have second passports from different countries: one has a Canadian passport, a couple of people have European passports, and the vast majority have Caribbean passports.
Founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, acquired the St. Kitts and Nevis passport in 2013. Its cost was $250,000 at the time. Out of all the passports of the Caribbean Basin, Dominica is considered the most liberal in terms of costing (As for the moment of issuing this article).
Citizenship of Dominica (not to be confused with the Dominican Republic)
The Citizenship by Investment program was introduced in 1993. The price starts from $100,000. There are different packages: for one person, for family; parents, brothers, and sisters can be registered. Term of obtaining a passport – from 2 to 5 months. Citizenship is inherited. In this case, you can never appear in the country and do not live there a single day, citizenship is processed remotely.
How does it work
People, who wish to acquire a second passport make a non-refundable contribution to the Dominica Economic Diversification Fund (EDF). The purpose of the fund is to develop the state’s economy. In return for the fact that the investor donates finances to the state fund, it grants him and his family a lifetime citizenship.
Programs of assigning subsidies from the Economic Diversification Fund (EDF)
